SURVEY ON FERTILIZER USE IN COFFEE PLANTATIONS IN LAM DONG PROVINCE, VIETNAM

In order to serve for the study “Using fertilizers optimally and improving soil nutrition in coffee plantations of farmers in Lam Dong province” which is  cooperated between Enveritas Organization and Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam, Inetzero Social Enterprise Company Limited provided survey and data collection services as the database for this study. The survey period for data collection takes place from December 2, 2024 to January 18, 2025. It is expected that of more than 2,400 coffee growing households in Lam Ha and Bao Lam districts of Lam Dong province will be surveyed and taken soil samples to analyze fertilizer density. From the results of the analysis, the study will provide recommendations to farmers on adjusting the appropriate amount of fertilizer for coffee plants on the typical basaltic red-brown soil of Lam Dong province, and promote farmers to use fertilizer appropriately in coffee farming to reduce costs and improve coffee productivity toward zero carbon emissions and protecting the environment.

Nearly 20 enumerators were selected by Inetzero Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. based on criteria related to the survey such as good health, honesty, and good knowledge of agriculture. These enumerator went through a training course of 4 days to equip their knowledge of coffee plants, fertilizers, and questionnaires as well as strengthened their interviewing and survey skills before being divided into small groups lead by field coordinators, who are extremely experienced in field works and have deep agricultural knowledge. Groups of enumerator are assigned to localities to conduct surveys according to the requested content.

Currently, along with the Fertilizer survey in Lam Dong, the Survey program on sustainable coffee production criteria, ran by Inetzero  is also taking place in the Central Highlands, Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces with more than 4,500 questionnaires administered. With the best efforts, Inetzero hopes to bring beyond expectation results to partners and is gradually becoming a partner providing good survey services with the highest data quality.
